I think that most people do this.  They look ahead at the road instead of behind because we (as humans) are supposed to be forward thinkers.  So they say!  I have never been a forward thinker.  I tend to focus on the bad or the nagging things behind the mounting anxiety every day instead of the good things that I get to see everyday.  Like, my daughters laughing at something on TV or my sons playing soccer.

The road behind me is a very long one and it was one that was very rough.  Rougher than any one person should ever have to deal with.  So how do you look ahead without worrying about how far you still have to…
